Without education and access to a solution, many were washing their hands in the same river they washed their clothes and bodies in. The tippy tap provides a safe and clean method for the community to wash their hands, consisting of simple, cost-effective materials that are easy to build, use and maintain. While the tippy tap prevents the spread of infection and disease, it is also a source of pride and comfort for the community.
